Lee’s father came to USA in 1939. Lee was the fourth child in the family. He was born in San Francisco. “Bruce” is a name from his mother. It means “Strong person”. Lee and his family went back to Hong Kong in 1941. Lee was a fellow of Hong Kong street gangster in 1953. He learned Kung Fu at the time. He attained some problems then. The police caught him for clash. His mother sent Lee to United States to avoid more trouble. Lee went to Seattle, Washington and lived with his mother’s friend.

Lee enrolled high school in Edison, Washington. He studied philosophy at the University of Washington. He taught the Wing Chun style of martial arts. He run his own martial arts school in Seattle. He met Linda Emery who became his wife. He and his wife went to California. They opened two more other schools in Los Angeles and Oakland. Jeet Kune Do was the name of his fighting style.
Lee’s talent in acting started when he was a kid. He appeared as a child actor. He played 20 movies. From 1996 to 1997, Lee showed his martial arts skill on a TV show. The show was the green hornet. It was a superhero drama. Lee could not get into Hollywood so he and his family left for Hong Kong. He made his first film in 1971 in Hong Kong. The title was the Fists of Furry. The film went into box-office in Asia.
Lee released his second film, the Chinese Connection in 1962. The film was also released in the U.S. Lee became a superstar in Asia. He established his own production house, Concord Pictures. Way of the Dragon was his directional film. He worked for Hollywood film. The film was Enter the Dragon released a month after his death.
A month before releasing the film Enter the Dragon, Lee died in Hong Kong on July 1973. The death was sudden. Controversy aroused after the sad day in the film industry. The autopsy reported that Lee’s death because of effect of painkiller medication for a back wound. The other speculation was that Lee had been killed or poisoned. Brandon Lee, Lee’s first son died under the same condition when he was making The Crow.
